PEARL CITY, IL – A pair of Pearl City freshman would play a major role in the Wolves come from behind 47-35 home win over Warren. For three quarters it was anyone’s game but the Wolves would claim victory after a 18-5 fourth quarter. Pearl City led 10-6 after the opening quarter but the Warriors fired back with a 13-7 second period behind eight Lizzy Brinkmeier points to lead 19-17 at the half. After a close third frame the Wolves then had that big finish with Savanah Brandt booking 11 of her 15 points in those closing minutes. The other freshman that came up big was Cheyenne Handsacker who scored in each of the four quarters to finish with 13 points and Sarah Pena added nine. For the Warriors Brinkmeier had a team high 14 points while Sydni Sigafus added seven. A notable difference in the contest saw the Warriors make their only free throw attempt while the Wolves went 10 for 19 at the line.

SOUTH BELOIT, IL – With just a 28-25 lead entering the fourth quarter the Warriors had one of their better scoring quarters of the year with a 17-7 final eight minutes to earn their second win with a road 45-32 victory at South Beloit. The Sobos who had six players score five or six points led 11-8 after the first quarter before leading 18-17 at the half. Behind a pair of third quarter threes the Warriors had a 11-7 third period to take that lead into the fourth period. Kimberlyn Raab sparked the Warrior offense with three triples on her way to a 12 point outing while the senior Lizzy Brinkmeier added 11 points. The home team shot them-selves in the foot as they were just eight for 25 at the stripe while the Warriors made half of their ten attempts.
